I can confirm this bug in Karmic. System:
Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 5 (2.6.31-10-generic-pae) Rhythmbox 0.12.4-2ubuntu1). Chinese support: $ dpkg --get-selections | grep chinese xfonts-intl-chinese install xfonts-intl-chinese-big install $ dpkg --get-selections | grep zh language-pack-gnome-zh install language-pack-gnome-zh-hans install language-pack-gnome-zh-hans-base install language-pack-gnome-zh-hant install language-pack-gnome-zh-hant-base install language-pack-zh install language-pack-zh-hans install language-pack-zh-hans-base install language-pack-zh-hant install language-pack-zh-hant-base install language-support-fonts-zh-hans install language-support-fonts-zh-hant install language-support-input-zh-hans install language-support-input-zh-hant install language-support-zh install language-support-zh-hans install language-support-zh-hant install The filenames are not a problem: Rhythmbox even displays the proper filenames in the "properties" dialog. The ID3 tags, however, do not always display properly. The problem does not seem to be specific traditional/simplified characters (see screenshot), but is likely related to the different encodings (UTF-8, Big-5, and GB-2312) used. Any ideas how this can be fixed? Let me know if there is any additional information I can provide that would help. ** Attachment added: "Screen demonstrating problems with displaying Chinese characters in Rhythmbox on Karmic." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31851844/Rhythmbox_Chinese_Encoding_Errors.png -- chinese characters in mp3 filename do not appear properly in library even after enabling Chinese in language support https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
