no. i didn't mean to suggest that.

i was trying to indicate that the consequences - for me, but also for
others - of the situation, and that i thought it warranted a higher
classification. it may well be that there are other things with higher
classification, and/or there is not time for them or this. but it
wishlist does not me (to me, at least) it's wishful thinking that the
thing get done. instead, it means the thing will never be important
enough to be assigned more than discretionary attention. this seems to
warrant more than that.

{{{

why? i'd think you'd want to assign the bugs based on their relative
urgency, instead of to spite me.

{{{

}}}

1. try to ask for help with the bug.
    - did that.
2. get acquainted with building a kde program/component/whatever
3. get acquainted with organizing my kde environment to use a program i build.
4. get acquainted with the program in question.
5. debug/learn to implement the needed feature.

i hardly program in c or c++ - mostly debugging, and not in years, so
there's some extra impedence. (i'm a python, lisp, and shell/utilities
script programmer.)

there are many utilities i use that would warrant similar attention.
this one happened to be an unfortunate blocker, which made my situation
desparate enough to take the time to elaborate the bug report. i'm
sorry if it came off as condemning - but i do think that "wish list"
does not suit the seriousness of the problem. anyway, that desperation
didn't mean i could easily dispose of steps 2-5. perhaps they're all
really, really easy, and i missed an opportunity. is that what you're
suggesting? from my perspective, every one of steps 2 to 5 is daunting,
and it's hard to know without wading far in how deep step 5 is, in
particular.
