Public bug reported:

Release = Kubuntu 9.04 installed from LiveCD.

Connected Microsoft NX-3000 webcam on USB port.
Video in Skype & luvcview works.
Sound for microphone not detected, not selected in Skype.

" KDE -> System Settings -> Multimedia -> Audio Capture " contains "
Microsoft Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000 (USB Audio) " but greyed out.

" arecord -l " only shows the sound card, not the webcam mic.
" ls /dev/video* " shows video0.
dsp exist for sound card, but no dsp1.

content of "/var/log/dmesg" & "var/log/syslog" both contains the fol lines:
