Thanks for the report! This looks like bug 426914, but I don't want to
dup to it yet. Can you report the output of the following commands:
sudo fuser -v /var/cache/debconf/config.dat
Then using the numbers returned in the PID column, show the highlighted
output from:
pstree -H PID
** Changed in: pam (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
