Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with latest updates here (cpufreq-applet version 2.27.92) I'm running BOINC and as of lately when selecting "ondemand" (which is a different bug) the cpu goes up to its maximum frequency (it used to stay at the lowest frequency in intrepid...) so I need to set it manually to 800MHz (lowest frequency on my CPU) after every reboot. When I change the frequency, I'm asked for my superuser password which is quite annoying and it wasn't the case in previous versions (intrepid). I hope this behaviour can be reverted or maybe someone can tell me the resons for the applet currently needing root permissions. cheers, Klaus ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: cpu frequency gnome-applets permissions root ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-applets I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with latest updates here (cpufreq-applet version 2.27.92) - I'm running BOINC and as of lately when selecting "ondemand" the cpu - goes up to its maximum frequency (it used to stay at the lowest - frequency in intrepid...) so I need to set it manually at 800MHz (lowest - frequency on my CPU) after every reboot.
