Bryce...Thanks for looking into this. I found a solution, unfortunately it seemed that an upgrade killed my system so I never got to try it....oh well....
It seems that the problem was that I installed a beta driver from nvidia's site. The problem was that some packages were not properly removed when I reverted back to the "Stable" driver. -- libglx.so has undefined symbol.
