I fixed this bug with Keyboard layout: France Alternative - In System => Preferences => Keyboard - In Layout tab - Click Layout Options - Expand the latest option: Using space keyto input non-breakable space character - Select Usual space at any level
No need to restart X nor Rythmbox: it works straight away.
