To my knowledge, no. The way computers in general work is that there is
some bit of firmware called the BIOS that comes with the computer that
initializes the hardware and then hands itself off to the operating
system. So xsplash doesn't get control until after the BIOS is done
loading. If the BIOS wants to show you a splash screen or whatever, then
there isn't really much you can do to stop it, short of changing the
BIOS, which isn't really in the scope of Ubuntu.
