I can confirm the same problem with Karmic Alpha6 + updates, running on a EEE 1000H netbook
If screensaver(Black screen) and powermanager both is set to switch off the screen after for example 1 minute: - The screen fades out after exactly 1 min., then the backlight turns off but switch on again right after. If screensaver is set to 1 minute and powermanager to never: - The screen fades out after exactly 1 min., but the backlight stays on. (as expected) If screensaver is set to something higher than 1 min., but powermanager to 1 minute: (makes no sense to do, but describes the bug) - The backlight switch off after 100 secunds, but turns on right after. Doing that the screensaver is reset and never kicks in.
