Choosing where the podcasts are downloaded seems like a very reasonable
request to me. In order for this to be implemented you will need to
file a bug at bugs.kde.org for the amarok devs to actually hear this
request. Please link to it here if you choose to forward this upstream.
Unfortunately at the moment, Amarok is in a transitioning period from
KDE3 to future KDE4, so no new releases will be out for about 6 months
(rough developer estimate). Future work in the 1.4 branch (latest
releases) will be mostly bugfixes.
Please do file the bug upstream anyway to get it into their bugtracker.
