Public bug reported:

Using karmic alpha up to date and a USB rt2870 wireless card with linux-
rt 2.6.31.5.5

Wireless card lsusb excerpt :
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 083a:7522 Accton Technology Corp. 802.11N Wireless
Adapter

NetworkManager icon shows that I'm connected to my usual wireless
network (WPA), but I cannot access any remote host. Clicking the
NetworkManager applet shows detected networks, but all signal strength
bars are full. Connecting to WEP or open networks give the same results.

Kernel log shows "rt2800usb 1-4.1:1.0: firmware: requesting rt2870.bin",
which doesn't show up when booting with linux-generic (network works
perfectly with this kernel). Blacklisting rt2800usb to force using
rt2870sta gives the same results.

I cannot tell if this worked in a previous version, as I had other
issues with -rt that prevented to boot at all. I tried building the
driver from the ralink website but it fails as net_device kernel
interfaces changed (anyone has a link to a patch for newer kernels ?).

** Affects: linux-rt (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
