I believe this bug appears in Turkish localizations only. File roller sometimes gives -idp error and couldn't open rar files. I have same problem on my Debian installed, Turkish localized machine. Same rars doesn't extract because of this error using file roller. This is all about Turkish big i problem. In Turkish "i" is a different character when it is uppercase (i->İ)(ı->I)(For more info : http://www.i18nguy.com/unicode/turkish-i18n.html).
Talat wrote a patch to solve this problem in Turkish localizations for file roller.
