** Description changed: i am using Ubuntu 9.04 on a Medion akoya p8610. what i expect: put cd in laptop. boot. choose try ubuntu... ubuntu starts up. done what happend: put cd in laptop. boot. choose try ubuntu... kernelpanic. my work around: (from a ubuntu help forum) boot with cd. hit f6. replace quiet splash with acpi=off nopic pnpbios=off that way ubuntu boots without the splash screen an all kinds of letters and stuff comes raining down. after that i can work with live cd. + (edit: medion akoya p8610 md96853)
