Steve, in my opinion this is a quite serious regression that touch on a very important deliverable for Karmic: KMS. It should not be postponed. If so, we'll be repeating the Intel issue we had with Jaunty.
I already got a workaround (comment #37). Tomorrow I'll get the problematic laptop again and do new tests with daily images. We have two options: 1) Solve the problem tomorrow. 2) Add it to the known issues yet on Beta. And giving it a milestone to RC.
