Public bug reported: devmapper appears to have doubled my available swap space from ~1.5 GB to ~3.0 GB, as shown by `free -m`:
total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1003 987 15 0 6 624 -/+ buffers/cache: 357 645 Swap: 3153 25 3128 However, `swapon -s` reports the following: Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/hda5 partition 1614492 25796 -1 /dev/mapper/hda5 partition 1614492 0 -2 It appears therefore that devmapper is doubling my swap without looking at the previous swap setup in /etc/fstab , hence causing Linux to think that there's more swap than it seems. ** Affects: devmapper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- adds misleading double entry to swapon https://launchpad.net/bugs/84668 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
