Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
There is occasional corruption of the screen when using a Sapphire Radeon 4770 card with the open source radeon drivers. The takes the form of a "chequered" effect, looking a bit like a chequer board. This is most noticeable when the screen goes grey (eg when typing gksudo ..) but can also be seen at other times eg in System Preferences , Appearance, Theme, the icons for each theme show this. The menus in KeePassX are corrupted. The effect does not show when using the fglrx driver when the screen goes grey, though the Theme icons do still show this same corruption. An attachment shows a screenshot of the grey screen effect.
