Have used USB headset for recording using soundrecorder. This works, but playback does not from within application. Saving as .ogg and playback using VLC works. Sound using VLC works. Playback using digital optical output works. Playback using analog output works. Playback using both digital optical and analog output is broken. This does not work. There is no profile supplying this option. This used to work in 9.04.
