I just tried to boot the system with the fiesty herd 3 CD, and I again
encountered this bug. However, I then tried the "Safe Graphics Mode"
option in the boot menu, and ubuntu booted fine!

Since the main difference between safe graphics mode and normal appears
to be that the safe graphics mode uses the vesa driver for X, I decided
to try the binary nvidia driver to see if the problem was with the open
source nv driver. Again, the computer booted fine. Since the problem
appears to be related to nv in some way, as well as console-tools, I
have added the nv driver package as being affected by this bug.

** Also affects: xserver-xorg-video-nv (Ubuntu)
