Public bug reported: Hi
I've got a big problem with my ethernet interface. It's a 100 Mbit, L2, onboard ethernet controller by Attansic Technology Corp. and it's using the atl2 driver. The problem is the following: The adapter works only from time to time and when it's working, it's working only in 10 Mbit-Mode. First I've thought it's because of a broken cable or switch but I've swapped both and it didn't help anything. Then I've checked the messages of dmesg about eth0 and found out that it could be something about ipv6. So I've disabled the ipv6-function for the system, but also no luck. Now the situation is even worse: The adapter doesn't even come up (dmesg: "[...]: eth0: link is not ready"). I've tried Jaunty and now I'm using the Karmic Beta, but the problem remains the same. I don't know what else I could do, to get rid of this problem (which is pretty annoying because I'd like to use this box as a server:-(!). This is a bug in the this atl2 driver, isn't it? I hope you can fix this bug soon. If you need additional information please ask me. Thanks very much in advance!
