I can confirm this, I have upgraded my MSI Wind U100 from Jaunty, and after a few upgrades none of my USB devices are recognised, i think this can be related to the not recognised camera of the Wind. After i have turned off (?) the camera before boot, my usb works again. There may be some relation with https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/276495 i have Karmic, with latest updates.
