Camera worked for me in 9.04, and is not recognised in 9.10 although lsusb lists it. It seems so enabled camera brakes USB hotplug feature. see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/276495 i have Karmic with latest updates, Wind U100.
