I tried compiling the latest hg alsa-kernel (12-02-07) and the card is recognized properly but it still has the same problem of Low Volume and No Speakers. The Mic Input is working now although I wasn't able to record successfully.
The same problem is mentioned here https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org /alsa-bug/view.php?id=2725 It seems it might be an acpi problem more than alsa at this stage. Latest hg alsa-kernel was tested on 2.6.17-11 and also with the latest Feisty kernel. Same results.
