Before making Martin's changes to fstab I took a series of 3 screenshots. The EEE PC 701 only has three USB ports. I have a USB mouse, the USB WD passport drive containing Karmic and the USB Samsung DVD writer connected but empty when I boot the system in the first screenshot.
