Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
Linux roookie...first bug report... 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: 9.04 (Jaunty) 2) The version of the package you are using: 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 (Evolution) 3) What you expected to happen: Add a Google address book (Contacts) from the drop down menu, sync with Google. Add a Google calendar (Calendar) from the drop down menu, sync with Google. 4) What happened instead: When Jaunty was first released I had successfully set up both, and had been using frequently. Recently changed my Google Account Password, which required me to change Password for Evolution IMAP Gmail account. I deleted both existing Google Contact and Calendar accounts from Evolution, and then tried to re-create them using the correct, new login password. CALENDAR-(begin bug) FILE>NEW>CALENDAR>NEW CALENDAR POP-UP BOX> Type: Google, Name: Calendar Nickname, Username: Google Account Username w/o @gmail.com, Use SSL: check, Retrieve list: press button Enter password POP-UP BOX> enter NEW google account password, OK: press button ERROR POP-UP BOX, 'Cannot read data from Google server. Connection terminated unexpectedly (end Calendar bug) CONTACTS-(begin bug) FILE>NEW>ADDRESS BOOK>NEW ADDRESS BOOK POP-UP> Type: Google Name: Nickname for Address Book Username: Google Account Username w/o @gmail.com, Use SSL: check, OK: press button In Evolution Contacts, Address book is now created. Highlight new Address book> ENTER PASSWORD POP-UP BOX> enter NEW google account password, OK: press button***** ******well well, tried it again to write this bug report, and ADDRESS BOOK now works (possible google system failure?)
