Christen Niemeyer - It's similar but coming from my sound card and not the mother board speaker. I have a similar sound card to the person in this other bug so it may be specific to that chipset as the pulse shipped with Karmic beta is working fine in the other two computers I've booted it on.
Daniel T Chen - Everything is up to date. I tried running update manager and it says everything is current and my kernel is 2.6.31-12.39 however I do not have the ubuntu-audio-dev PPA enabled. I'll try that and see if it changes. Edit: Ok just tried the PPA now and got no updates.
