I definitely made sure that the pulseaudio mixers were turned up (assuming that's what the gnome mixer was controlling). I didn't try alsamixer at the time of the test. I just logged into the box remotely and I can see that the volume settings in alsamixer are at the maximum setting. One thing to note is that on the LiveCD surround, center and LFE were all at 0 or muted. Currently they are maxed. I don't know if this is relevant, but it is a difference.
My suspicion is that this is an Ubuntu problem as well. I should probably install Ubuntu and see if it also has the problem. Also, I'm still really suspicious about the control differences in the alsa-info.sh output that I attached. My guess is that if the controls aren't correct for the hardware then the mixers aren't going to get it right nomatter what their settings are. -- Sound works on LiveCD, but not after install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
