Yes, acerhdf has been making way to much noise about nothing. However this has already been fixed. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/435958 for more details. I've seen from your attached CurrentDmesg.txt that you are using Linux version 2.6.31-11-generic. The newest kernel is 2.6.31-12-generic version 2.6.31-12.41. You can get your kernel version by typing cat /proc/version_signature in a console or looking it up in synaptics. The bug has also been fixed for version 2.6.31-11.38 of the 2.6.31-11 kernel. You can find boot messages you see on screen also by typing dmesg in a console or by looking at the dmesg log in System>Administratin>Log File Viewer. Could you please upgrade your kernel and check your boot messages to verify that the acerhdf message is indeed gone?
