In the preferences page in the syncronization tab, when u choose the tomboy web and you click "Connect to server" button, it changes to "Server not responding. Try again latter" even though I am sure I am connected to Ubuntu One server. Because of this I still have not been able to set the syncronization settings and the sync option is still not available to me.
