I think that this bug cannot be resolved until ASUS opens its information about ACPI implementation particularity in this laptop model or disassembling windows ATK driver code. IMHO there is a hardware or BIOS bug and ATK driver mitigates it but only in Windows. The only thing to do is to ask ASUS engineers about this bug and make an analog of ATK driver for Linux or reverse engineering. (Un)fortunately I am now using another notebook without any problems with hibernation or suspending in Linux, but an old pal is in ьн range. So I can test any possible solutions of this bug.
Also, Windows XP have problems with suspend when I use an ATK driver (can't > remember the name, but it handles ACPI) from Windows Update. The ATK driver from ASUS works just fine. > > -- Computer freezes when trying to suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
