Public bug reported:

The finger reader works and I can login swiping my finger. However if I
introduce the password (which I usually do since otherwise I will have
to introduce gnome-keyring password after login, fingerprint reader
still comes handy to unlock the screen) on the "Password or swipe
finger:" question, I get asked for the password again, right away. The
second time the text is only "Password:" This happens every time.

Occasionally it does not even works like this and gdm stays "thinking"
about the password seemingly for ever. I've been forced to restart gdm
to try again and be able to log in on my system.
