workaround: If I understand all this right users of gateway and packard bell computers that are not netbooks should just ignore the message for the time being. It is harmless. Users of netbooks should report the bug for their model if it has not been reported already. There may be nettops or whatever they are called that also have netbook technology inside so that they may need/want that acerhdf module to load. If you believe you have such a special model and see the "acerhdf: unknown (unsupported) BIOS version" please also report that.
Thank you for taking the time and helping to make Ubuntu better. -- "acerhdf: unknown (unsupported) BIOS version Gateway/M-6862/91.22, please report, aborting!" seen on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/446111 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
