** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv My graphics card ASUS Nvidia 9600GT does not work with the opensource nvidia drivers, as a result the live CD for Karmic will not boot. X seems to fail silently so never falls back to the failsafe settings (and using vesa drivers). This happening with Karmic Alpha 6 live CD, but also happened with Jaunty live CD as well. Same thing will happen if try to start X without an xorg.conf file. Is there someway to blacklist this card so that X selects the vesa drivers ? + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset DRAM Controller (rev 02) + Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
