Downgrading the BIOS to 1.10 seems to solve the problem. Upgrading the BIOS was really simple (didn't require Windows). Just download the file labelled "BIOS Flash (ISO CD-Image)" and burn it to a CD. Boot the CD with your laptop and type 'flash' at the command prompt.
