Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
Attempting to use a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset as a modem on Karmic
causes the phone itself to crash and switch off.
Bug is reproducible by connecting the handset with USB. Select 'PC
Suite' on the handset itself. Network manager then lists a new GSM
connection as a possible network. I can click on the network listing,
run through the setup wizard and save the new configuration, but the
phone will then switch itself off as soon as the wizard finishes. I can
subsequently attempt again to connect by restarting the handset,
reconnecting it by USB and selecting the now saved configuration, but
the handset will switch itself off again before connecting.
Haven't tested with bluetooth.
My handset network is three (UK).
