Can you please open a new bug with "ubuntu-bug gnome-power-manager"
and do the following:

  killall gnome-power-manager
  gnome-power-manager --verbose 2>&1 | tee ~/gpm.log

then let it drain the battery until it's down to 1% or less (it
regularly shows). Then press ^C, and  attach ~/gpm.log to the bug.
