Oh, my god...the old problem came up again tonight. When I was trying to start Firefox a few hours ago, it suddenly crashed and the whole system freezes and I had to shut down the machine with force. When I tried to reboot via the ubuntu "recovery" mode, I got the following error messages:
... /dev/sda3 has been mounted 36 times without being checked, check forced. [70.227462] ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen [...] ata1.00: cmd c8/00:08:46 ... Buffer I/O error on device sda3, logical block ... ... These remind me of the same errors I got before I started this bug thread. Obviously, the problem has not fixed at all. It's just lurking these days. :( Now I can't boot ubuntu feisty via the normal mode either. I'm getting similar error messages. Oh, well...What can I do? BTW, my Windows XP on the same hard disk is still working perfectly and /dev/sda3 was mounted as / when I was installing feisty. -- [feisty] X Window freezes after the latest feisty updates https://launchpad.net/bugs/84914 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
