Public bug reported: The device is the one pictured in http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Webcams/Logitech/Logitech-QuickCam-for- Notebooks-Pro-Webcam (looks like logitech launchs a new camera with the same name every year).
Skype freezes just after choosing "Show my video". Cheese is a bit more resilient. I get a frozen image which is taken at the start of the program. However if I take a picture, the obtained image is not the one frozen on the screen but apparently, the correct one, taken when I pressed the "take picture" button. After a bit more playing however, it froze too. Both applications were running fine with Jaunty. Dmesg seems normal, only with: [ 6672.220542] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:08cb) [ 6672.267358] input: UVC Camera (046d:08cb) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-2/1-2:1.0/input/input11 Nothing on /var/log/messages.
