Yeah, obviously I meant "IfacesConfig", so the command is (I should always try 
them before posting...):
sudo /usr/share/system-tools-backends-2.0/scripts/SystemToolsBackends.pl -m 
IfacesConfig -v

Anyway, the second command gives a hint about the problem: some value is
missing when loading the config. The above command should help finding
out why it's not found. Though, could you run network-admin (no need for
sudo) and reproduce the problem before posting both outputs again?
Errors that happen when saving can be interesting too.
