SRU justification The Hardy and Intrepid releases of unattended-upgrades do not show the hostname in the subject header of the emailed upgrade logs. This can be confusing when managing more than a handful of machines as it requires looking at each incoming emails header to determine the source machine that sent the report. This issue is resolved in Jaunty and above by the simple addition of the hostname in the subject header. The debdiffs attached to this bug report backport this support to Hardy and Intrepid.
TEST CASE: 1. Install and configure updated unattended-upgrades package to send upgrade email notifications. 2. Check if the hostname is present in the subject line of the sent emails. Regression potential is low, the patch is trivial and has already seen widespread use in Jaunty and above. -- RFE: unattended-upgrades should identify host. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341256 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
