Gunni: Yes, after fix_superblock.py removes any bogus signatures the
partition is once again correctly autodetected permanently. You can
safely run
$ sudo fix_superblock.py check /dev/sdXN
from karmic live-CD and you should see it reporting multiple signatures.
If this is not the case then your problem is something else.
