Hi,

I'm having this trouble on an Asus M2N-PV-DVI (it has onboard Nvidia
7050). I tried the following from the LiveCD with the corresponding
results:

1. Regular boot without changing any parameters - Screen with green lines all
over. Cannot switch to virtual terminal but SysRq works.
2. Boot in Safe Graphics Mode - Screen with green lines all over. Everything as
above.
3. Boot with boot parameter 'single', then edit xorg.conf to select vesa
driver, then startx - Ubuntu boots.

I am using the ubuntu-9.10-desktop-1386 ISO downloaded on Oct 19, 3.30
PM GMT approximately, if that helps.
