Dear friend:

It just happened to me one time and I am not aware of the possible causes.
The only think I can tell you is that it happened to me on a Packard Bell
Dot_S netbook after upgrading to the beta version of Karmic. It is
remarkable that the netbook desktop change is not working properly since
that upgrade. Panel applets disappear at random and, when in typical desktop
mode, maximized windows seem to have lost the upper right corner icons.

Hope this will be solved in a few days. Wonderful O.S. anyway!!!
