Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media
For a long while, I've been unable to use gnome-sound-recorder. Whichever audio format I select for recording, I'm greeted with a window displaying: "Could not capture using the <x> audio profile. Please verify its settings. You may be missing the necessary plug-ins." Where <x> is the profile used. This issue makes the application totally unusable for me; I've tried reinstalling the gnome-media package over and over, but the issues persists.
