I am experiencing this same bug, which I found additionally documented
over in Fedora's system:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=493018

I'm using a Thinkpad X61s

While it is true that I can generally fix the connection by doing a:
"""
sudo rmmod iwlagn && sudo modprobe iwlagn
"""

That is not always enough to get network manager to re-recognize the
connection. I'm curious whether we should be unchecking the "Enable
Wireless" option before unloading/reloading the driver. In either case,
some more instructions or a different fix would help a lot.
