Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2
The system was upgraded via "aptitude dist-upgrade"; the upgrade started and I left the computer. After I came back an hour later the terminal window was empty (no cursor, etc). This is when probably the crash happened. After "sudo dpkg --configure -a" the system asked me if I want to keep the modified version of the file /etc/default/grub ProblemType: Package AptOrdering: grub-pc: Configure Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Oct 24 16:33:42 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Package: grub-pc 1.97~beta4-1ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: grub2 Title: package grub-pc 1.97~beta4-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-package i386 -- package grub-pc 1.97~beta4-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459807 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
