Public bug reported:

When my usb harddisk is plugged in it shows up directly to the desktop.

After I reboot ubuntu the usb drive is not automaticly mounted. Only
when I disconnect it and reconnect the disk(I don't know the commands
needed to mount manually).

This happens after a fresh install of 9.10 
kernel: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic
GNOME 2.28.1 (Ubuntu 2009-10-23)

 (note this didn't happen in 9.04)

After I disable power and reenable it all is working again:
