I also often get this bug. As almost all other bugs with colors in dark color shemes, this bug is not supported nor fixed oficially. Dark colors users are alone with their look and feel 'enjoyment'. Some apps, mostly qt3 apps, like QCAD, not have any replacements, not going to rewritten for modern GUI engines and looks ugly in latest Ubuntu's. Fortunately, there is solution which works for me with QCAD in 9.04.
