[Solved]
I had the same problem, the internal speaker didn't switch off when I plugged 
in the headphone.

I have the ASUS X55SV, 
there are two outputs, one for the headphone and one for the line out and now 
it's working for the headphone output. 

I made following modifications: 
Add "snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire" (without options) in the 
"etc/modeprobe.d/alsa-base"
Activate the Service "alsa-utilis" : Menu: Service-> "operations control" -> 
"Services"

If "headphones" in "volume control settings" ->"switch" is selectet, it
should work!
