OK, answering the question in the "information gathering" area..... NOW: I believe this is a problem with suspend, as it never wakes up, just a black, un-backlit screen. It happens every single time without fail. Suspend/ resume worked perfectly with Jaunty through most of the kernels(except in the very beginning - during alpha and beta testing and shortly thereafter) - no /proc/version_signature info, recently deleted old kernels. No flashing caps lock light. The battery has not run out after suspend but before attempted resume. The machine SEEMS to be suspending normally (Orange flashing light), and seems to resume normally (Disk use light comes on briefly, green light replaces orange flashy light). but then only black screen, no login page, message, or any other indicator from the computer.
Will run a pm-suspend and attach photos later. -- [Sony Corporation VGN-FW139E] suspend/resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/360302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
