this process on Karmic (9.10) creates the DVB device in /dev/ and not it
/dev/dvb/

this can be resolved by using what is described in the following thread:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1278275

there is a typo in the udev rule.
it should be:

KERNEL=="dvb*", PROGRAM="/etc/udev/scripts/dvb.sh %k", NAME="%c"
